Lovelace Lung Grasping Forceps is designed with triangular-shaped jaws to create a large grasping surface area that is 25.0 mm wide. The purpose of the triangle shape is to distribute the force that is applied and is especially useful when grapping the lungs so that pulmonary tissue is not damaged. During a thoracotomy, for example, this forceps can be used to clamp and isolate each lesion of the lung to remove the segment that is cancerous.
